Steroid Derby Sneakers

A masterclass in maximalist design, the Steroid Derby Sneaker reimagines the classic running shoe with an intentionally oversized and “super-wide” silhouette. The upper is intricately constructed from a mix of technical mesh and high-quality polyurethane, featuring a monochrome black palette that highlights the shoe’s aggressive, sculptural lines.

The design is notable for its unique lacing system, which includes an additional set of laces wrapped around the exterior for a DIY, utilitarian look. Signature Balenciaga branding is found throughout, with the logo embossed on the edge of the toe and printed on the tongue. The extra-thick, flared rubber sole not only provides superior cushioning but also creates a dramatic, grounded footprint that has become a hallmark of the Maison’s modern footwear identity.
